The Street: an image-based book
The Street is an image-based book about street harassment.
Street catcalling and harassment continue to be a significant problem for many people, particularly young women, in present-day society. These behaviours are often a manifestation of sexism, misogyny, and the objectification of women, and can take many forms, ranging from whistling or making lewd comments to unwanted touching or even physical assault. The impacts of street catcalling and harassment can be significant and long-lasting, with many victims reporting feelings of shame, fear, and anxiety as a result of their experiences.
My book depicts this issue through illustrations and paper cutouts, expressing the experience and impacts of this issue, both through my perspective and the perspectives of other women in my life. Published spring 2023.

Outside: A book about the memory of place
This book is part of an ongoing exploration of place, memory, and emotional connections to spaces. Building on previous works in painting and printmaking, it delves into the interplay of colour, perspective, and nostalgia. The project focuses on contemporary constructions of space, using light, people, and emotion to explore how places shape our memories. The 14-page hardcover book features interactive paper cutouts of windows and doorways, with coloured vellum paper serving as the glass. When held up to light, the windows "light up," evoking the feeling of a lived-in space. The book's design combines traditional and sculptural elements, with a hand-carved woodblock cover and silver foil title. Each page is crafted with care, using personal and sourced materials, including acetate "glass" and custom-printed pages. The project explores themes of erasure and residue, highlighting the lingering memories that remain even after a place or person is gone. The book was created in two editions, one with black paper, the other with white.
